WWE superstars are greatly underpaid!

Some very interesting information has come to light today from the Wrestling Observer Radio, Where we have found out that WWE talent are being severely underpaid compared to Other sporting athletes.

Dave Meltzer outlines that most athletes from other sporting franchises as a whole makes 50% of the revenue that the franchise makes, but in WWE, that number is only 10%.

This topic for conversation had come about all because of the promo Liv Morgan had cut on raw last night, where she had accused Becky Lynch of being “greedy” and that was the reason as to why  her friends (Sarah Logan and Ruby Soho) were released in the first place.

Meltzer had stated

“Becky Lynch is underpaid. There is not one person on this roster who is not greatly underpaid. Including Roman Reigns, and including Brock Lesnar for that matter.

“Based on, if you were in any sport, and the amount of revenue that you draw, the amount of revenue that you generate, when you’re talking about the percentage that the WWE guys get as compared to, even the UFC fighters, who are terribly underpaid.”

“How much is a reserve lineman on an NFL team generating? Nothing, but, because the players play the game and the players are the game, they get 50%. So an unknown NFL player is still making a lot more money than Drew Gulak, just for an example.

“They’re all greatly underpaid based on sports standards. Forget the NBA, those guys make incredible money, but on any sports franchise, they’re getting rougly 50% of the revenue. In WWE it’s under 10%.

“So you could put everyone’s salary up five times and then you’re getting the level where you would be equal to the other sports. And if you did that, the company would still be wildly profitable.”

Liv Morgan was not the only one that referenced releases in the promo, as Edge did it as well later on that evening in his promo with The miz, which for all intensive purposes was not well received by at least one superstar in the locker room.

WWE has used the phrase “budget cuts“ As to the reason for almost all the releases in the past two years and it will come as no surprise that comparisons like this will come as a shock to many fans of WWE wrestling as a whole, considering WWE is one of the biggest wrestling corporations in the world right now…

What do you guys think to this story? Is it a surprise to you that WWE talent is being underpaid?
