WWE Hall Of Famer Mr. Wonderful' Paul Orndorf Has passed away
WWE Hall Of Famer 'Mr. Wonderful' Paul Orndorff has passed away suddenly at the age of 71, according to a post on Instagram from his son Travis Orndoff.
The post reads:
"It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my father, Paul Parlette Orndorff Jr. He is better known as “Mr. #1derful” Paul Orndorff. Most of you will remember him for his physique. Many will remember his intensity. But if I could only get you to understand and see his heart. He will always be Pop, Paw Paw, and Daddy at home. And as much as many of you hated him as a wrestler, he absolutely loved you for it. He was an amazing father that showed me more love than I ever deserved. I love you Daddy.
A donation page is available in my bio for funeral expenses. Any close friends whom would like to speak at his funeral, please message me on Instagram Travis_Orndorff.
Travis, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005, had some great career highlights including competing at the first ever wrestlemania, where he teamed up with "Rowdy" Roddy Piper to take on Hollywood Hogan and Mr. T in a tag team Match.
Orndorff was also involved in one of the greatest steel cage matches in WWE history, where he challenged Hollywood Hogan for the WWF/WWE Championship on Saturday Night's Main Event.
He also spent some time wrestling for other promotions such as the NWA And WCW, where he had won major championships for both of these promotions, which includes tag team title success on multiple occasions, as well as world heavyweight titles for both NWA and WCW.
As well as being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005, Orndoff was also inducted into the NWA Hall of Fame in 2009.
We hear at Real Rasslin would like to send our deepest condolences to the Orndoff Family. May 'Mr. Wonderful' Paul Orndorff rest in peace and his legacy live on.
