WWE Files For Two New Trademarks
WWE have recently applied for two new trademarks.
WWE have filed for two new trademarks - one potential team name, the other a potential new ring name.
On May 12 and 13 respectively, the company filed for ‘Bloody Brutes’ and ‘Ava Raine’. As always, these filings do not indicate who these names are intended for but it’s always fun to speculate and keep in mind!
The application to USPTO Trademark & Patent Services states the names are ‘intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by professional wrestlers and entertainers rendered and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.’
Could Bloody Brutes be a name for the currently unnamed group of Sheamus, Ridge Holland and Butch? Or will it be assigned to a new faction entirely? And will Ava Raine be (another) name change for someone, continuing a current theme of late? Or a new superstar entirely? Only time will tell!
