Will Ospreay to Kenny Omega: Stay Away From Me, I Don't Like Two-Faced People!
It seems Will Ospreay has some very choice words for the Belt Collector, get the details below!
Throughout the years both Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay have traded shots with each other over Twitter, ever since Omega left New Japan Pro Wrestling to assist with the formation of All Elite Wrestling in 2019. The United Empire leader is viewed by many as the heir apparent to Omega’s throne in NJPW as the Top Gaijin star since his departure.
AEW and NJPW are set to jpoin forces on June 26th with the cross promotion “Forbidden Door” Pay Per View and the fans have been putting together what potential dream matches they’d love to see at the inauguralOne match fans would love to see is Will Ospreay vs. Kenny Omega, but it seems that Ospreay has divulged that he and Omega are currently on negative terms, which will obviously hinder any future dream matches.
"Obviously, people want Kenny Omega, we're not on good terms right now. When you leave the building and leave New Japan and pull me aside and say, 'You need to step up for this company, I believe in you,' and gas you up and gas you up hard, and you put your heart and fucking soul in trying to make this...the bar was high. For both myself and [Jay White], the bar was high. I actually care and want the fans who watch New Japan to be like, 'this is professional wrestling.' I'm doing it and destroying my body to do it, and then you cut me off online? What type of a cunt is that? I look at you and actually hold you in high regard, actual high regard, and I respect everything you've done. Even when you did the barbed wire exploding match that went to fucking shit, I actually was the type of guy that was like, 'I hope they're alright.' The bombardment of tweets, I was probably the only guy that did that, and instead you retaliate by burying me to your shitty fans. I'm literally doing my fucking best. That's why me and Kenny don't get along. I'm sure he has something else to say, but it's one of those things where I prefer him to stay away from me at this point. It's not even funny. You can destroy guys like that. You're saying this and you're saying that, I don't like two-faced people. Be real, just be real, that's all I ask for," Ospreay said in an interview with Wresthings.
The Belt Collector is currently sidelined with multiple injuries and has not set foot in a wrestling ring since Full Gear in November last year. On the other hand Ospreay has main evented the last two NJPW shows in the US and continues to remain an active competitor on the United States independent scene. At this time no matches have been announced for Forbidden Door but it is anybody’s guess what we will see come June 26th, one thing for sure is that is surely going to please the fans!
What do you think about the Ospreay/Omega Heat? Do you think it’s a work to set up an eventual match between the two? Or do you think Ospreay’s feelings are legit?
