TNA brand could be brought back, says IMPACT executive.

Scott D'Amore, the Executive Vice President of IMPACT, has given hints that the brand name of TNA could be making a return as a stage for the Knockouts division. 

Appearing on the TMFI wrestling show, D'Amore had spoken about a possible return of the TNA name. 

Here's what he said below: 

“As we come out of this pandemic environment and get back out there, certainly that’s a possibility. It’s a possibility that the TNA brand could return. I think it’s one of the things many – and certainly not at the top of the list – but one of the things that the pandemic has robbed us of is that opportunity to see a return of TNA"

D'Amore continued:

“We have so many unbelievable Knockouts. Maybe we’ll end up continuing to grow the Knockouts division and give them their own separate platform.”

A TNA "One Night Only" show had been planned and was scheduled to take place during WWE's Annual Wrestlemania pay-per-view back in 2020. However, due to the worldwide outbreak of COVID-19, IMPACT were forced to cancel all plans they had made for the show. 

It would have made sense to have the one night only event, as Moose had revived the TNA World Heavyweight Championship back in April of last year. However, Moose had lost the title to the current IMPACT World Champion, Rich Swann , in a world title unification match at Sacrifice last month. 

TNA was founded in 2002 by WWE Hall Of Famer Jeff Jarrett under the NWA-TNA moniker. In 2007, the NWA moniker was dropped and the promotion was simply named TNA (Total Nonstop Action), In 2016 it was rebranded as IMPACT where they have continued to use the name.
