Title Change at NJPW Strong at Philadelphia Tapings ***SPOILERS AHEAD***

Following on from NJPW’s Capitol Collision Pay-Per-View, NJPW held there “Collision in Philadephia” taping at the infamous 2300 Arena on Sunday May 15th, 2022. The matches taped at the show will air during future editions of NJPW Strong.

NJPW Strong Openweight Champion “Filthy” Tom Lawler defended his title against Fred Rosser aka WWE’s Darren Young and if he lost then he would be forced to leave NJPW Strong. Fortunately Rosser was able to defeat Tom Lawler to capture the championship, picking up the important win via submission with a Chicken Wing. The crowd celebrated with Rosser engaging in a “Thank You Grandpa” chant to Rosser’s Grandfather who was in attendance. New Japan Pro Wrestling introduced the Strong Openweight Championship last year and Lawler won the belt and became it inaugural champion. After winning the title in April of 2021, Lawler successfully defended the strap on 9 different occasions.
