Survival Of The Fittest Tournament To Return As Announced By ROH.
Ring of Honor have announced the return of their Survival Of The Fittest Tournament, with it set to begin in June.
The news broke on the edition of the Eck's Files on Ring of Honor's official website.
Here's the full announcement:
You asked for the Survival of the Fittest tournament to come back and the ROH Board of Directors listened. The tournament returns in June on ROH TV.
Originating in 2004 and last held in 2018, the tournament is composed of a series of qualifying matches, with the winners meeting in a multi-man elimination match to determine the overall winner. The lone survivor will be rewarded with a future shot at the ROH World Championship.
Past winners of Survival of the Fittest include Bryan Danielson, Tyler Black, Jay Lethal and Adam Cole.
The tournament was the winner by a landslide in a poll on the "ROH The Experience Facebook Page" which asked fans which event they'd like to see make a return this year.
Past winners include Bryan Danielson (better known as Daniel Bryan in WWE) and Tyler Black (better known as Seth Rollins in WWE), whom we know went on to have very successful careers and multiple World Championship reigns.
Winning the tournament would not only be an honor, but they would also gain a championship match against the ROH World Champion and would place themselves at the top of the company.
It would be good to see the tournament back, and showcase talent you may not have seen before! What are your thoughts? Share them below!
