Sasha Banks and Naomi Stripped of Women's Tag Team Titles, Suspended indefinitely & Merch Removed From WWE Shop

The story continues to evolve concerning the now former WWE Women's Tag Team Champions as Sasha Banks and Naomi have now been officially stripped of the titles.

As we reported previously, the duo walked out of RAW on 16th May as a result of being unhappy with their booking. They were due tot ake part in a six pack challenge for an opportunity to face Bianca Belair for the RAW Women's Championship at Hell in a Cell, but left the arena after feeling "disrespected as champions". This led to RAW colour commentator Corey Graves branding them "unprofessional" live on air.

Whilst reports and rumours continued to gather pace, nothing was officially announced until last nights (May 20th) episode of Smackdown, when Michael Cole addressed the situation by saying that Sasha and Naomi had "let us all down", disappointing fans and fellow WWE Superstars alike. He went on to mention that they had been suspended indefinitely and that a tournament would be held to crown new WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. You can see this in the tweet embedded below.

As if that wasn't enough, it appears that Sasha and Naomi's merchandise has also been removed from WWE Shop, as was confirmed by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com.

This has also been confirmed by Wrestle Ops on Twitter,

We'll have more on this developing situation as it becomes available.
