Samoa Joe Released By WWE
The Samoan Submission Machine is back on the free agents market
News has come out and been confirmed by Sean Ross Sapp at Fightful that the record 3-time NXT Champion, Samoa Joe, has once again been released by WWE.
Joe was initially released just after Wrestlemania last year, but was immediately brought back by Triple H to be part of the background staff at the Performance Centre, as well as an on screen talent for NXT. Joe won his third NXT Championship when he defeated Karrion Kross at NXT Takeover 36 in August 2021.
However, Joe's third and ultimately final reign ended when he vacated the title just three weeks later, which coincided with the rebrand of NXT to the 2.0 brand we have now.
WWE have released several Performance Centre staff and talent in the last couple of days such as the legendary British wrestler William Regal, as well as Ace Steel, Timothy Thatcher and Danny Burch among others.
Do you think this is a good move, or have WWE once again dropped the ball with a high level competitor? As ever leave your thoughts in the comments below, we'd love to hear them!
