WWE star's mystery backstage attacker revealed

A WWE mystery was solved last night after a recent backstage attack was unraveled, with a twist ending to the story.

On last week’s episode of NXT, Eddy Thorpe won his way into the Iron Survivor Challenge match, but by the end of the show, was ruled out of it due to a mystery backstage attack.

The attack meant he was unable to compete in the Iron Survivor match, and instead, he was replaced by a Oba Femi.

The returning Oba Femi would go on to win the Iron Survivor Challenge match and get a title shot against Trick Williams at New Year’s Evil.

On last night’s NXT, Thorpe inserted himself in an exchange between Williams and Femi, accusing Femi of being his attacker.

While Oba denied the accusation, Thorpe would press Trick Williams for a title match in the subsequent exchange, to which Trick would agree and ask Ava to make the match for next week.

However, in a surprise turn of events to close the show, Eddy Thorpe openly admitted to Ava that he fabricated the story.

After the contract for his title match next week was already signed, Thorpe revealed that he set up the “attack” knowing he’d be able to use the sympathy to to leverage a title shot without having to endure the Iron Survivor Challenge.

Next week (December 17) on NXT, Eddy Thorpe will get a shot at the NXT Championship against Trick Williams.

This was the swerve that I didn't except to see happen but fair play to Eddy Thorpe on staging his own attack to get a title shot next week.

We at Real Rasslin would like your thoughts on this and if you think their will be any further actions taken towards Eddy Thorpe for staging being attacked
