Wrestling legend and hardcore icon Terry Funk dies, aged 79


As Reported By Many media news outlets Terry Funk Has Sadly Passed away at the age of 79 here is a tribute from WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley and Ric Flair



He debuted in 1965 and officially returned nearly 53 years later.


He was widely regarded as the father of Hardcore wrestling and idolised by WWE legends such as Mick Foley


Tributes have been paid to Funk by fellow legends such as Ric Flair, who tweeted: "In My Entire Life, I’ve Never Met A Guy Who Worked Harder.



"Terry Funk Was A Great Wrestler, Entertainer, Unbelievably Fearless, And A Great Friend!


"Rest In Peace My Friend Terry Funk Knowing That No One Will Ever Replace You In The World Of Professional Wrestling!"


And British wrestler and announcer Simon Miller tweeted: "Terry Funk passing away is so sad.


"Legitimately one of the best ever and a man who rewrote the rule book about 100 times.

"Constantly surprised you.


"Thoughts with his friends and family.


"One of a kind to say the least."


Funk had one of the most storied careers of any wrestler in history, winning countless titles through his time in the ring, including the NWA Florida Heavyweight Championship, the ECW World Heavyweight Championship on two occasions, and the WWE Tag Team Championships alongside Cactus Jack.


He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009.
