A top AEW star is set to be out of action from AEW television due to Visa issues.
On this week’s (October 10) Title Tuesday special episode of AEW Dynamite, Rey Fenix was set to face Jon Moxley in an AEW International Championship match.
However, Moxley ended up not being cleared to compete, with Orange Cassidy instead facing off with Fenix for the title.
Orange Cassidy would end up regaining his International Championship that he lost at All Out, and we now know the reason why Fenix dropped the championship.
Per Fightful Select (Subscription Required), sources close to Fenix say that he is facing Visa issues that will have him out of action on AEW television.
It is not known how long Fenix’s absence will be, but AEW made the decision to move the International Championship off of him which was never intended to be on him to begin with.
AEW originally planned for Moxley to recapture the title on this week’s Dynamite show, with the plans changed due to Moxley not being cleared.
While Cassidy was not considered to recapture the title ahead of this week, it was noted that whoever ended up facing Fenix on the show would have likely ended up winning the title.
