The Former WWE Champion That Believes Vince McMahon Misled Them

Former WWE Tag Team Champion Taz has recently spoken out about feeling misled by Vince McMahon during his time with the WWE.

In an interview on the Talk Is Jericho podcast with Chris Jericho, Taz shared his thoughts on Vince McMahon’s vision for him and how it differed from what was discussed before his signing. Taz made it clear that he doesn’t believe Vince McMahon deliberately lied to him, but he felt that he was given misinformation about the direction his character would take in the WWE.

Recounting his initial meeting with Vince McMahon, Taz described how they discussed various aspects of his role, including money and his character’s identity. However, Taz was surprised to discover that Vince McMahon had a different vision for him once he joined the company.

“When I first met with Vince McMahon, we had this great meeting in a conference room at a hotel on a Wednesday afternoon because it was a secret since I was the top guy in ECW,”

Taz explained.

“He knew me, and the character. He saw the FTW on my wrist, but he said that he didn’t know we could do FTW, but that was the only thing. My concern was whether or not I could be me. I don’t want to say Vince McMahon lied to me, but he had a different vision for me once I was there.”

Why Didn’t Taz Reach His Potential In WWE?

According to Jim Ross, Taz didn’t reach his full potential in WWE because talent didn’t want to work with him as they thought he was dangerous. Jim Ross stated that a lot of the talent didn’t want to sell for someone short in stature such as Taz.
