On the October 9 edition of WWE Raw, the Crown Jewel opponent for Seth Rollins and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship was revealed.
In an in-ring segment, Rollins was enjoying the adulation of the Omaha, Nebraska crowd until he was unceremoniously interrupted.
With Drew McIntyre popping into the in-ring segment, Rollins lamented that he had hoped for at least one night off.
Hoping that perhaps Drew was here to party along with him and the crowd, Rollins dropped an excellent 3MB reference noting, ‘You used to be in a band’.
3MB of course was McIntyre’s former heel stable, short for ‘Three Man Band’ featuring Jinder Mahal, Drew McIntyre and Heath Slater.
While Drew wasn’t there to dance, he wasn’t there to immediately kick off a fight either.
Rather McIntyre proposed a title shot at next month’s WWE Crown Jewel as Drew wanted to take on Rollins at 100%.
With Seth accepting the title match, it would be made official via match graphic shortly thereafter.
However, despite McIntyre coming in peace, Rollins was attacked from behind by Damian Priest.
While Drew did not turn back to simply assist Seth, as Dominik Mysterio ran out with the Money in the Bank briefcase, McIntyre then intervened.
Stopping Dominik from continuing down the ramp, McIntyre hit him with the briefcase and in no uncertain terms, yeeted it.
Tossing the briefcase far out of reach (seemingly even hitting the tron) Priest would certainly not be cashing in after this ambush.
The next WWE premium live event from Saudi Arabia, WWE Crown Jewel, is set to occur on November 4, 2023.
