Your Irn Bruiserweights are at Scotia Pro Wrestling's first show of the year.
Match 1 - SPW Defiant Championship Colton Davis (c) vs Mercer
The match started with the crowd booing Colton Davis and cheering for Mercer. Colton got the upper hand on Mercer with strength with some hard hits over the back of Mercer. Mercer got back in the match when he tripped Colton over so he was on the second rope. Mercer then baseball slid out of the ring and asked the crowd if he should punch him and the crowd agreed but Colton's manager Charles Bodington got in front of Colton to stop him. Colton distracted the referee so Charles could hit Mercer. Both men went back and forth with hard hits and hard moves. The match ended with Colton's manager Charles throwing something in the eyes of Mercer so Colton could hit a massive choke slam on Mercer.

Official thoughts - this was a good match to get the crowd going and the crowd got into it from the start. Both men showed what they could do and how they both wanted the championship.
CEO Lisa Manzies came out to the ring to announce that the one to watch Nathan Reynolds could not be in attendance tonight due to family issues and at the last show Nathan challenged Director of Operations Bryan Douglas to find someone to represent him and Nathan will do the same for a match and whoever on would control Scotia Pro Wrestling and Lisa demanded an answer from Bryan tonight.
Match 2 - 6-man tag match Knockout Kings and Hatcher vs The Heirarchy
The match started with Kid Fite and X Jack in the ring, X Jack ducked from being hit by Kid Fite but instead got Kid Fite and gave him a wedgie then would hit him with some solid punches, Kid Fite escaped to the corner and cuddled his tag partner Davey Blaze who would then tag himself in and demand to have Alex Andrews in the ring, Davey would get Alex in a headlock, Alex would throwing Davey off the ropes for Davey to hit a shoulder tackle to knock him to the mat. Alex got the upper hand till George Hatcher tagged himself in and demanded Assassin. Assassin came into the match and both men showed their strength before Assassin could get the upper hand with some punching and kick combinations, Knockout Kings and Hatcher regrouped outside the ring before Knockout Kings tricked Hatcher into getting back in the ring and let all three from The Heirarchy take shots at punching him. The Heirarchy would then keep making tags to all have a shot at Hatcher. Hatcher and Knockout Kings managed to get back on top with some heavy hits and some big moves, both teams then broke out and all men would be hitting their finisher on each other till the referee was distracted and Hatcher hit a low blow on Assassin and got the three count.

Overall thoughts - I enjoyed this match I have never seen The Heirarchy before and was good to see what they bring to the ring, I thought the match was hard-hitting and something was always happening all six men gave it their all and showed what they could do.
Match 3 - Arwen Grey vs Hera SPW Women's Tournament
This match was meant to be Arwen Grey vs. Molly Spartan nut was announced the other day that Molly Spartan couldn't make the show and they were bringing in Hera. This match started with Hera going for a test of strength but Hera got Arwen in a headlock and then Arwen threw Hera off the ropes Hera hit a shoulder tackle to knock Arwen to the matt to then go off the ropes again but this time Arwen hit a hip toss. Hera then tried to apologise and shake hands with Arwen but Arwen read it well and when Hera tried to go for a kick Arwen caught her leg. Both women shared the upper hand on each other with some heavy hits and some nice combinations. Hera got more of the upper hand and showed she was too strong for Arwen. Hera got Arwen in a submission using the strength in her legs and Arwen could not escape and had to tap.

Official thought - This was an okay match. Both woman where making there debut for the company and I think it showed a little bit but both woman did their best and showed they wanted to advance to the next round.
Match 4 - SPW Tag title match KOE Vs The Young Team (c)
The match started with Logan Smith from The Young Team speaking about how if they get disqualified they lose the titles but didn't say if they got counted out they would lose their titles so they left the ring and headed back backstage, KOE went after them and brought them back to the ring by their ears. as KOE was getting in the ring The Young Team attacked KOE. The Young Team tried to throw KOE off the ropes but KOE reversed and then shoulder tackled The Young Team. Eventually, we got the match started properly and Logan Smith and Marcus King stared in the ring. Logan managed to get to the upper hand with some hard hits, until Adam King tagged in and decked Logan then hit him with a kick Adam then hit a standing moonsault. KOE stayed on the offence by hitting both Logan and Jimmy's head off the turnbuckles and then throwing The Young Team into each other. KOE stayed on the upper hand with big moves and heavy hits until Logan made the blind tag in and took out the knee of Adam so The Young Team then got the upper hand making quick tags and hitting some big moves and heavy hits. Marcus managed to get the tag in for KOE and managed to get on the upper hand taking out both of The Young Team. Jimmy says he is done with this and grabs the titles as the referee is trying to get the belt off him Logan hits Marcus with the title and gets the three count.

Wait a minute here comes a referee from the back to tell the ref about Logan using the title to win. The referee pulls the titles of The Young Team and re-starts the match, KOE hits a double super kick on The Young Team, KOE hits their finisher and gets the three count.

Director of Operations Bryan Douglas comes to the ring to say no one has confidence in him apart from one person but it doesn't matter as if he accepts the challenge he knows he will win with his pick. He goes on about how he singly brought James Storm to the company in December. He then said that Nathan couldn't be there due to family stuff but he is scared of him. He said he would accept the challenge under one condition, if Nathan loses which he will he is not to be seen in SPW ever again not even buy a ticket and come as a fan. Bryan asked Lisa Fordyce who is Nathan's sister to call him and tell him. Lisa got Nathan on the phone and had him on loudspeaker Bryan told him the deal and Nathan accepted then Bryan hung up on Nathan and said there you go it's done and enjoy the last two matches.
Match 5 - SPW Heavyweight Championship - Lucha DS (c) vs. Frank Cross
Frank Cross came out first and when Lucha DS was making his entrance Frank Cross grabbed the title and hit Lucha DS from behind with the title a few times. The referees checked on Lucha but Lucha would not give up he got to his feet and told the referee to start the match. Frank Cross went straight in on Lucha from the bell with some big kicks and some big moves. After a two-count Lucha rolled out the ring, Frank Cross went after him on the outside and hit him with some big forearms and some big kicks. Lucha was struggling from the attack before the match started. Lucha got back in the ring and the crowd was behind him, he managed to get a couple of punches on Frank but when Lucha came off the ropes he was met by a shoulder tackle from Frank. Frank hit a big Supplex for a two-count. Frank ran to Lucha in the corner twice but meet the boot of Lucha, Frank tried a third time but was met by a big kick from Lucha. Lucha went for a splash of the middle rope but Frank got his knees up in time to stop it. Frank says to the crowd he is smart and he then stays on the offence in different corners with heavy kicks and punches. Frank throws Lucha out the ring and tells the referee to count as Frank chills on the top rope. Lucha gets back in at 9 but Frank is straight on him with kicks and throws him to the corner. Frank went on the second rope to punch him but Lucha managed to get him set and deliver a powerbomb to Frank. Lucha then stays on the offence, Lucha got Frank set up for his finisher for the three count.

Official thoughts - I thought this was a good match both men showing what they could do and how much they wanted the title. Frank Cross showed why he deserved the chance to win the title and Lucha DS showed why he deserves to be champion. I can't wait to see more between them and also see where they both go when not against each other.

Thoughts on the Match - I thought this was a good rumble always something happening in the ring and a couple of surprise entrants and a couple I have not heard of before so I will keep my eye on them. all participants showed they wanted to win. I was surprised with the winner but I am happy he won as well.
Overall thoughts of the show - I thought this was a really good show to start the year off and everyone that was involved showed how much it meant to them to be on the show and be there for the fans. I can't wait to see where some of the wrestlers go from here. The next show is Friday 16th February at the Letham Village Hall. If you are around then get along to their shows you will not be disappointed.
