AEW star Darby Allin has provided an update on a wrestling legend’s status with the promotion, amid rumors about their return.
Sting wrestled his last match earlier this year, stepping away from the ring after teaming with Darby Allin to defeat the Young Bucks at AEW Revolution.
With the "Icon" Sting teasing that he will be watching All In 2025 from “somewhere”, there has been a lot of speculation about Sting’s AEW future.
Speaking with WFAA, Darby Allin confirmed that Sting has been backstage for recent AEW Collision tapings.
Issuing another kind of challenge to his mentor, Darby Allin said:
“Yeah. He’s been backstage at some of the Collisions.
“I keep telling him, you’ve got to come out and we’ve got to go mini-golf battle. You know, like his son, I’m helping train his son right now in wrestling, and I took the son mini-golfing, and I whooped his butt, and then I just asked Sting, does it run in the family to lose to Darby Allin in mini-golf? We’ll find out.
“He claims that he’s a mini-golf master, but he hasn’t pulled up to the course yet.”
It was reported in May that Sting’s son Steven Borden Jr was training to be a pro wrestler. Bordan notably appeared as Wolfpac Sting during Sting’s final match at AEW Revolution.
