Nigel McGuinness Addresses AEW In-Ring Future & Dream Opponent

At AEW All In London 2024, former ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness made his in-ring return for the first time in 13 years during the Casino Gauntlet Match.

Despite losing the match to eventual winner Christian Cage, Nigel McGuinness received the biggest pop of the match and arguably of the night.

The AEW commentator previously had plans to get back in the ring at All In 2023 against Bryan Danielson, but things fell through when Bryan Danielson suffered an arm injury and was unable to compete.

Speaking with Raj Prashad of Uproxx Sports, Nigel McGuinness admitted that he has aspirations for another match. He said:

“Zack Sabre Jr. would be a dream match. Adam Copeland, he’s got another of those ‘broken bones.’

“There are so many great talents, Lee Moriarty has been gracious enough to get in the ring with me before the shows at Collision, and that’s helped me a great deal.”

Nigel McGuinness did note that he is interested in a select number of matches and doesn’t want to get caught up wrestling every week.

Nigel McGuinness currently works as a color commentator on AEW Collision alongside Tony Schiavone every Saturday on TNT.

A new report has revealed an update on Nigel McGuinness’ in-ring future following his return at AEW All In London, which you can read here.
