Mean Gene Okerlund interviews the AWA titleholder, who says that he can't believe promoter Paul Boesch booked him to face the wildman in Houston
The AWA World Heavyweight champion is scheduled to face the unpredictable Bruiser Brody in Houston, and he informs 'Mean' Gene Okerlund that he's not very happy with promoter Paul Boesch or the situation.
Brody would not defeat the champion, however, and would never go on to capture a world championship of any major promotion. Ever the renegade, he preferred to travel the world, seeking his fame and fortune as pro wrestling's ultimate bounty hunter.
Bockwinkel, the kingpin of the promotion throughout most of the 70s and 80s, would continue as one of AWA's major figures until their eventual demise. Bockwinkel would then move on to a role with World Championship Wrestling in the 1990s.
