Current TNA Wrestling star Joe Hendry has recalled a story about getting a WWE tryout many years ago with CM Punk present.
In an intriguing bit of Hendry lore, he has explained the behind the scenes details of a past WWE tryout.
Joe Hendry spoke to Chris Jericho on Talk is Jericho about getting to America and navigating the challenges of getting in front of the right people in wrestling.
Hendry spoke about how he impressed WWE trainer Robbie Brookside who got him a tryout in 2013, which ended up having a very interesting crowd of observers.
Hendry said about his WWE tryout:
“My first match outside of my training school was in an empty arena, but it was in front of CM Punk, Paul Heyman, Fit Finlay, William Regal, Big Show, and I’ve never had a match outside my training school. I’m so glad there’s no footage of this!”
Joe Hendry has seemingly already begun a feud with another group of NXT stars as this past week saw him draw the ire of Gallus.
