CM Punk's WWE Return Hits MAJOR Roadblock

This doesn't bode well for CM Punk's WWE comeback prospects...

CM Punk is the biggest free agent in wrestling at the moment, though ill will amongst WWE's management team may hinder his prospects of returning to the market-leading promotion.

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that "There's a lot of people with bad feelings in management about CM Punk in WWE." This follows the 44-year-old firebrand's 2nd September AEW release when he was fired from the company with cause following another backstage incident.

CM Punk is understood to have fought with Jack Perry at AEW's All In event on 27th August, prompting company founder and CEO Tony Khan to comment that during the fracas, he "feared for his life."

Previously, CM Punk was sidelined between September 2022 and June 2023, having been served an indefinite suspension for fighting with The Elite after All Out 2022. The Chicagoan was also injured that night, suffering a muscular tear while wrestling Jon Moxley on the pay-per-view itself.

That CM Punk could be on his way back to WWE has been a popular rumour since AEW cut him loose. Previously, the 'Voice of the Voiceless' has been critical of company officials Vince McMahon, Paul 'Triple H' Levesque, and others.
