CJ PERRY CONFIRMS AEW EXIT, MORE DETAILS ON HER RELEASE

CJ Perry, the former spouse of Miro, made a surprise debut with AEW at All Out 2023.

Shortly after her appearance, AEW President Tony Khan clarified that CJ Perry was not under a long-term contract with the company.

The former AEW and WWE superstar recently spoke with USA Today. When asked about her current status with AEW, CJ Perry confirmed that her tenure with the company has just ended.

She said, “[My] time with them has just finished.”

Regarding her plans, CJ Perry expressed her desire to continue her career in professional wrestling to emulate Paul Heyman’s success.

She added, “I’m really focused on finding talent and cultivating them and helping them become the best wrestler, champion possible. I guess you could say I want to be the Paul Heyman.”

CJ Perry’s final appearance for AEW was at Worlds End 2023, where she turned on her client, Andrade El Idolo, and aligned herself with her then-husband, Miro. Subsequently, Miro has been absent from television due to various injuries, while CJ Perry was dealing with an MSRA infection.

It was later revealed in March that CJ Perry and Miro were in the process of getting a divorce.

Fightful is reporting additional details about CJ Perry’s AEW departure, which occurred a few months ago.

AEW confirmed that CJ Perry was part of the April releases, although her departure was not publicly announced at the time.

The report further states that CJ Perry was initially on a per-appearance agreement, but she later signed a contract.

CJ Perry’s return to AEW was not anticipated, as injuries to both herself and her on-air clients had impeded the situation.
