We at Real Rasslin have come to learn.
After returning to NXT nearly one year ago, could Baron Corbin be set for a move back to the main roster?
Of course, Baron Corbin's Wolf Dogs partner Bron Breakker signed with SmackDown earlier this year, and the Son of Steiner wrapped up his time in NXT at this week's TV taping, where the Wolf Dogs lost the NXT Tag Team Titles to Axiom and Nathan Frazer. As such, questions remain over the future of Baron Corbin.
Pitches have been made for Baron Corbin to join Bron Breakker on the SmackDown brand and continue their Wolf Dogs tandem. Whether this happens remains to be seen, but that pairing has been a genuine highlight of NXT since they became unlikely partners at the turn of the year as part of this year's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic - a tournament that they'd win on their way to defeating Tony D'Angelo and Stacks for the NXT Tag Team Championships.
Baron Corbin's last televised main roster match was on the 9th June 2023 episode of SmackDown, where he lost to Butch in less than two minutes. By that point, Baron Corbin had already returned to NXT, though, having attacked Carmelo Hayes on the 30th May 2023 NXT to set up a rivalry with the then-NXT Champion. After losing to 'Melo, Baron Corbin would move on to rivalries with Gable Steveson, Bron Breakker, and Ilja Dragunov, before circling back to team with Bron Breakker at the start of 2024.
Having been with WWE since 2012, Baron Corbin's initial NXT run concluded in 2016, with him moving to Raw in the aftermath of winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32. During his time on the main roster, Baron Corbin had a 70-day reign as United States Champion in 2017 and won the 2019 King of the Ring.
