Afa of the Wild Samoans has Passed

Samu Anoa’i announced earlier on Facebook that his father the legendary Afa Anoa’i has passed away. Fans know Afa as one half of the Wild Samoans with his brother Sika who passed previously.

Afa is the uncle of current WWE Superstar Roman Reigns and WWE Legend Rikishi. He is the Great Uncle of Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and Solo Sikoa.

After retiring in 1993 Afa would appear sporadically in wrestling but he never left it. Ada and Sika owned and operated a training facility. Afa would also appear more recently with the Bloodline Story the WWE has ongoing.

Outside of the squared circle Afa helped found the Usos Foundation with his wife Lynn. This is a nonprofit designed to turn youth from drugs, gangs, and lift them from poverty. Additionally to his philanthropy Afa holds three acting credits. He was in “Body Slam” (1987), “Mr. Nanny” (1993), and “Miami Vice” (1987).

His unfortunate passing comes after days of misreporting of his passing by various news sources.
