AEW STAR REACTS TO STING RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

An AEW star that is in some ways synonymous with Sting has reacted to Sting’s retirement announcement on last night’s AEW Dynamite (October 18).

When you ask professional wrestling fans about their memories of Sting, they will undoubtedly list off awesome moments and matches.

They also are likely to spontaneously replicate the signature entrance call of Tony Schiavone that accompanied Sting’s entrances for so many years.

After Sting’s in-ring retirement announcement on last night’s AEW Dynamite, Tony Schiavone has reacted on Twitter.

Schiavone wrote:

“It is a tremendous thrill for me to be a small part of the career of @Sting.

“There’s never been a finer person for me to have worked with all these years.

“From the time he first stepped in the studios of TBS back in 1987 to his retirement announcement in Texas on Dynamite, I am proud to be along for the ride.

Oh, by the way…IT’S STIIIIIIIIIIING!!!!!”

Sting announced that his final match will take place at AEW Revolution 2024.

Tony Schiavone also had another task on last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite (October 18), trying to catch an impromptu interview with Wardlow after he squashed Ryan Nemeth.
