It seems as though former NFL star Pat McAfee Will be joining the SmackDown commentary team on Friday night.  Pat confirmed this via a video on Twitter hyping up his “next big gig" with WWE.

Stating: "Ladies and gentlemen.. a lot has happened pretty quickly here," McAfee wrote. "I'm joining the incredibly talented folks of Friday Night Smackdown (live on Fox at 8PM EST every week) working alongside Michael Cole on commentary. An open mic, LIVE, in front of millions... AND MILLIONS.. of people every Friday. I'm beyond pumped and grateful. Big thanks to Vince McMahon for the decades of entertainment, the opportunity, AND.. agreeing to appear in this announcement video. Let's do the damn thing..... BAYBAY"

He also followed up with a tweet

This follows the commentary shake-up that happened on Monday Night Raw this week with the addition of MLB pundit Adnan Virk, as well as the release of Samoa Joe.

Corey Graves will be moving to Monday Night Raw to work alongside Bryan Saxton and Tom Phillips will be heading to 205 Live.

It will be interesting to see what Pat McAfee will bring to the table in terms of commentary for SmackDown along with Michael Cole
