NXT to expand internationally once again.

NXT is about to go international once again.

According to Post Wrestling's Brandon Thurston and John Pollock, NXT are looking at doing a Program "NXT India" which will begin in January 2021. As Per Thurston, the show will be broadcasting on the WWE Network and will air worldwide and on linear Television in India. It will feature a single 8-man elimination tournament to kick off the series.

Although, this isn't the first time NXT has expanded it's brand, NXT has opened up a new wave with their NXT UK show back in 2018 after the announcement was made by Triple H back in 2016. Other expansions have been rumoured such as NXT Japan, but the outbreak of COVID-19 seems to have delayed the expansion plans. it's clear that the WWE is making waves to move forward with International performance centres and extend brands as 2021 draws closer.

India has been a keen area that the WWE have wanted to expand to in the last few years with the company putting on shows. This was clear when they gave Jinder Mahal a world title run as well as regularly sending ambassadors over there.

“[Visiting India in 2017] was an incredible experience,” Triple H noted in an interview last year.

“I really need to thank the people of India for their continued support of WWE, and it is such an amazing place. We keep sending our ambassadors there to visit — Charlotte Flair just came back after falling in love with India and the people — and they can’t stop raving about it. I can’t wait to come back!”
