This week on WWE RAW a NEW Number 1 Contender for the WWE Championship was decided in a Fatal 4 Way Match between the other four men who were in the 5 Way Match at the Day 1 Pay Per View last week.
The WWE fans are about to get something they've been clamouring for, for some time. This week on WWE Raw a NEW Number One Contender for the WWE Championship was revealed as Bobby Lashley. This means that the hotly anticipated bout between The Almighty Bobby Lashley and NEW WWE Champion Brock Lesnar will take place at the Royal Rumble Pay Per View.
It was reported recently that since Lesnar's WWE Championship win at Day 1 that Bobby Lashley was being eyed as Brock's first challenger after the shocking title win. Steven Muelhausen of DAZN reported that Lesnar vs. Lashley was likely to take to take place at the Royal Rumble, which has now been confirmed with the result of the Main Event on RAW.
On tonight's WWE Raw, we saw a Fatal 4 Way Match to determine the new No.1 Contender for the WWE Championship featuring Seth Rollins vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Kevin Owens vs. Former WWE Champion, Big E. Lashley won after hitting Kevin Owens with a Spear and pinning him to win and become the New No1 Contender.
Moving forward there had been rumours and speculation regarding a Lesnar vs. Lashley match taking place at Wrestlemania 38 this year, which may not happen now considering their match taking place at the Royal Rumble. It is being speculated that at the moment, WWE is still looking at Lesnar vs. Reigns to take place at the Showcase of the Immortals, despite their match up being cancelled for Day 1 due to the Universal Champion testing positive for COVID.
