No Plans for WWE Roster Split to End Just Yet; Updated Wrestlemania Backlash Card

It is being reported, that despite Unification Matches that have or are taking place, WWE is not interested at this time in ending the Roster Split.

According to a recent report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter there is no plans at this stage to end the WWE Roster Split, despite the company Unifying the World and Universal Championships as well as booking the unification of the Smackdown and RAW Tag Team Championships at Wrestlemania Backlash.

The rumours have been circulating for some time relating to WWE and whether they will end the Roster Split or not, but not strong confirmation has been given as to what the direction will be moving forward. At this time it is not likely that Vince McMahon will merge the rosters, but knowing Vinnie Mac he could change his mind at any time.

Wrestlemania 38, Night 2 saw Roman Reigns defeat WWE Champion Brock Lesnar to unify the WWE Championship and the Universal Championship. At the moment the company is moving forward with unifying the Smackdown and RAW Tag Team Championships at the upcoming Wrestlemania Backlash Premium Live Event on May 8th, 2022. At this time there are no concrete plans for Roman Reigns heading into the event, except that he will be headlining the show. On a recent episode of Smackdown the Tribal Chief did attack Shinsuke Nakamura, which could lead to a future match up over the unified titles. During WWE’s tour of the UK, Reigns will be defending the Unified Championship against Drew McIntyre, which takes place at the end of this month.

The WrestleMania Backlash Premium Live Event is scheduled for Sunday, May 8 from the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. Below is the updated announced card:

Winners Take All Title Unification Match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles
SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. RAW Tag Team Champions RK-Bro

I Quit Match for the SmackDown Women’s Title
