Shortly before Dynamite aired last night, AEW President Tony Khan announced on Twitter that former NWA Women's champ Allysin Kay will challenge current champion Serena Deeb on the Full Gear Buy-In show.

Kay first won the championship in April 2019 at the Crockett Cup, defeating Santana Garret to claim the vacant title (the title had been vacated by former WWE and ECW superstar Jazz due to medical and personal reasons). She held the title until January 2020, eventually losing to Thunder Rosa at NWA Hard Times.

Kay has been inactive for the majority of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On November 3rd, she announced via Twitter that she had left NWA and is now a free agent.

She now has the chance to win back the NWA World Women's Championship from Serena Deeb, who defeated Allysin Kay's conqueror Thunder Rosa for the title, at AEW's Full Gear Buy-In show.

The match between Orange Cassidy and Dark Order member John Silver was originally penned for the Buy-In show but will now take place on the main PPV show.
