New PROGRESS World Champion Crowned!

Ring of Honor Champion, Jonathan Gresham locked horns with the PROGRESS World Champion, Cara Noir in a Title vs. Title Match to be crowned the new champion. See the details below!

New PROGRESS World Champion Crowned!

Jonathan Gresham is on a tear lately. His popularity is rising, especially after the ROH Championship win against Jay Lethal at Final Battle in December 2021. The man has defended his title in various promotions and even started his own promotion amongst that. Now he can add another accolade to his list of accomplishments.Gresham took on PROGRESS World Champion Cara Noir at PROGRESS Wrestling, Chapter 130, in a Title vs. Title Match where he defeated Cara Noir to capture the gold! The title win was not without some controversy as Spike Trivet waffled Cara Noir with a Steel Chair at the end of the bout, Gresham who was unaware of the interference capitalised and defeated Noir to become the new Champion.

With this victory Jonathan Gresham is now not only a Double Champion holding both the PROGRESS World Title and ROH Championship, but he is the first non-United Kingdom or European born wrestler to win the championship!

During Ring of Honor’s hiatus, Gresham, as mentioned above has been working everywhere he can, regularly defending the ROH Championship wherever he goes. Will he do the same with the PROGRESS World Championship? Only time will tell. At the moment I am sure “The Octopus” will be focusing on Supercard of Honor were he will face off with Bandido in a unification match for both the ROH Championship and the ROH World Championship.

What do you think of this huge win for Jonathan Gresham?
