With the return of NXT UK just days away, airing from the BT Sport TV Studios in London, several announcements were made on this week's episode that promise to make the next couple of weeks essential viewing.

The Gallus boys will be in action next week as they defend their NXT UK Tag Team Championships against Kenny Williams and Amir Jordan. Having issued an open challenge for their championships, Williams and Jordan stepped up to the plate and will be first to take them on and hopefully win their first Tag Team Championship.

One week later, on September 24th, Kay Lee Ray will go one on one with Piper Niven with her NXT UK Women's Championship on the line. These two are no strangers to each other having fought on many occasions across the UK scene, and the two never disappoint when paired up so it should be a fantastic match.

Also announced was the beginning of a brand new tournament, the NXT UK Heritage Cup.

This will be an 8-man tournament with matches contested under Traditional British Rounds Rules, albeit with some minor adjustments:

All matches will be:

  • Six 3-minute rounds, with a 20 second break between rounds
  • 2 out of 3 falls
  • Pinfall, Submission or Count Out counts as one fall
  • The round will end once a fall takes place
  • A winner is declared if they gain two falls
  • A Disqualification or Knock Out ends the match
  • Whichever competitor leads after six rounds wins

The NXT UK Superstars who will compete in the tournament have also been announced. The competitors are:

  •  A-Kid
  • Alexander Wolfe
  • "Bomber" Dave Mastiff
  • "Flash" Morgan Webster
  • Joseph Conners
  • Noam Dar
  • Trent Seven
  • An as yet unnamed mystery Superstar

On a final note, there has been no announcement as yet on when #1 Contender to the NXT UK Championship, Ilja Dragunov, will get his shot against current champion, the imposing Austrian and leader of Imperium, WALTER. Dragunov won a battle royal on the final episode before lockdown to confirm his position as the next in line to challenge the NXT UK Champion.
