KAIRI Makes History In NJPW!
KAIRI (fka Kairi Sane in WWE) has made history at NJPW Stardom Historic Cross Over.
History was made this weekend over in NJPW as KAIRI became the first ever IWGP Women's Champion by beating Mayu Iwatani. in what was an exceptionally gruelling match between the two women, it was KAIRI who emerged victorious and earns the right to be called the first ever IWGP Women's Champion.
This is a momentous occasion for NJPW, as for the first time in it's fifty year history, they have crowned and recognised their first Women's champion.
Going forward this will open the doors for many more women to come through and challenge the newly crowned champion.
NJPW President Noaki Sugabayashi presented the championship belt to an emotional KAIRI before posing with the title alongside Takaai Kiwani President of Bushiroad.
After the celebrations, KAIRI cut a tearful and emotional promo, music hit and Tam Nakano made her way to the ring. She instantly challenged the new champion for a match at Wrestle Kingdom 17, which the new champion accepted.
KAIRI vs Tam Nakano is now set for the traditional January super show.
The new championship will also be defended on all of NJPW shows including Strong and house shows.
We here at Real Rasslin would like to wish a huge congratulations to KAIRI for making history, not just in wrestling, but in Japan, empowering women to showcase what they can do as well as main event shows!
