Jon Moxley Return Announced, Set to Defend GCW World Title!
Jon Moxley's return to the ring has been announced this week on Twitter. His return match will be a GCW World Championship defense against a TNA, ROH and JAPW Legend!
It appears that former AEW World Champion and current GCW World Champion, Jon Moxley, is set to return to the ring after taking a hiatus to enter a rehabilitation program for alcohol addiction back in November 2021.
Moxley, the reigning GCW World Champion, will defend his title against TNA, ROH and JAPW legend Homicide, who has been working in MLW as of late. The match is set to take place on January 23rd 2022 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York.

Homicide vs Jon Moxley at Hammerstein Ballroom on January 23rd.
Homicide won the Do or Die Rumble at "GCW Die 4 This" this past Saturday to earn his shot at the GCW World Championship. The finish of the match saw Homicide win after hitting the Cop Killa on Cogar. Recently as mentioned above, Homicide has been working with MLW, although Homicide has also appeared in AEW in recent times, going as far back as AEW Rampage Grand Slam where he assisted Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston in their match against Minoru Suzuki and Lance Archer. He has also made appearances for NWA.
Mox is supposed to be back in AEW second week of Jan is what I'm hearing.— Pro Wrestling Overtime (@ProOvertime) January 2, 2022
GCW just had the match to determine his opponent for Hammerstein, so thinking it is on until Mox says it's not. Moxley is the GCW Champion.
As you can see from the Tweet above, there is currently no rock solid confirmation as to when Moxley will return to AEW. Right now it is assumed that he will return in the second week on January.
What do you think about Moxley's return?
