Update on How Sting Will Be Utilised In AEW

As some of you may or may not know the Legendary Sting has now signed a contract with AEW. Sting made his first appearance with the promotion at the Winter Is Coming Dynamite special on 2nd December 2020.

Over an illustrious career that has approximately spanned over 35 years, Sting has wrestled for a number of promotions. He is best known for his work with WCW and TNA (now known as Impact)

After a stint with WWE from 2014 to 2020, he only wrestled a handful of matches and coincidentally this lead to a very quiet exit.

It seems that Sting at the age of 61 has now signed with AEW but the question remains as to what capacity will he be used.

According to an article written by Sports Illustrated, they have now released some more insight as to how Sting will be used as many people were led to question at the age that he is will he still be able to wrestle?

Sting himself has had a multitude of injuries over his career, most notably the neck injury he received in 2017 at Clash of Champions with the match against Seth Rollins.

AEW has noted that Sting will wrestle but it will be on a limited basis. According to reports, AEW want to use the reputation that Sting has to build future stars.. it was also mentioned that they may use him in specialized matches and “Carefully designed spots that allow Sting to shine as well as building those around him”

Although Sting has such huge star power and a global appeal I can't help but wonder whether or not this is a wise decision from Sting or AEW.

What do you think? Should Sting still wrestle or bow out gracefully?
