Former TNA star Doug Williams announces he's coming out of retirement.
The man who almost single handedly carried the hopes of British Wrestling on his back in the early 2000’s is taking bookings again!
British Wrestler Doug Williams has announced he's coming out of retirement.
Williams is best known to fans as a Ring Of Honor and TNA Wrestling star, winning championships in both promotions. Williams made history by becoming the second-ever ROH Pure Champion, holding the title for a total of 42 days.
He went on to win the TNA Television Championship and TNA World Tag Team Championship with Brutus Magnus (aka Nick Aldis), as part of the British Invasion tag team. He also won the TNA X Division Championship twice.
Williams had previously announced his retirement back in 2018, working an advertised bout against Yoshinari Ogawa for Pro Wrestling NOAH. In that time he’s worked on and off, appearing in seven matches. He was advertised for a few ROH appearances last year, (2020) including a ‘Past vs. Present’ match against Jonathan Gresham and as one of the participants in the Pure Championship revival tournament that was scheduled to start in April. Both events were eventually cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
