Big NXT news ahead of War Games

Big NXT news ahead of War Games

There has been some big updates in regards to NXT War Games, as all four teams have been finalised for the men’s and women’s War Games matches. Not only that, there has also been some other matches added to the Pay-Per-View card too.

With that being said let’s start off with the women’s WarGames match….

The final spot for Raquel González‘s team has been filled by none other than Kay Lee Ray! She will be joining Io Shirai, Cora Jade and Zoey Stark to face off against Toxic Attraction and Dakota Kai.

Kay Lee Ray offered her services to the trio after her recent victory on NXT this week. It’s safe to say that this team in of itself is quite a strong one and many of the members have been involved in previous War Games matches so the experience should count for something.

But what about the men’s War Games match I hear you ask?

Well, Carmelo Hayes defended his NXT North American Championship against Johnny Gargano and Pete Dunne this week, and as usual, there were plenty of #Shenanigans; an all-out brawl ensued between old school NXT and new school NXT.

So it looks as if it will be the old school team of NXT consisting of Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, LA Knight and Pete Dunne...

...Against the new school team of Carmelo Hayes, Tony D’Angelo, Grayson Waller and Bron Breakker.

The brawl that happened on NXT this week crust goes to show that this will be an epic matchup for War Games and we are all in for a treat.

But that’s not the only thing however, as there have been some other interesting matches outlined for War Games,  including a match between Roderick Strong and Joe Gacy, And to make things a little bit more interesting, Strong is willing to waiver the weight stipulation for his Cruiserweight Championship. Gacy had outlined the stipulation for the Cruiserweight Championship, explaining that it was a form of “weight shaming.” Diamond Mine obviously disagree with the statement and therefore the match is now set.

Also as there are two respective teams wanting to challenge for the NXT Tag Team Titles, the current Champions, Imperium, decided to set a challenge between the teams of Kyle O’Reilly and Von Wagner, and Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza, with whoever wins at War Games getting a shot at the tag team gold!!!

Last but not least, Cameron Grimes maybe sporting a new hairstyle after War Games because following the most recent episode of NXT this week we are going to be treated to a hair vs hair match between Grimes and Duke Hudson.

This is all because Grimes had felt that Hudson had “done him dirty” in last week’s Poker Showdown.

He states to the crowd that while he’s made it in wrestling, he’s always kept his scraggly hair and beard as a reminder as to where he came from: rural North Carolina.

These words prompted Duke Hudson, who happened to be finishing up a haircut, to mock Grimes again. Initially Hudson turned down Grimes’ challenge to a match until the North Carolina native called for a Hair vs. Hair match at NXT War Games, and after some contemplation Hudson accepted the challenge..
