It was revealed recently that Ivelisse and AEW have sadly parted ways. The current SHINE champion posted a tweet on her official Twitter account indicating that she had left the company and made allegations regarding mistreatment.

She posted this on Twitter:

“History repeats itself, unfortunately.” Ivelisse tweeted. “I speak out about mistreatment and get let go. That’s life.”

Last fans had seen of Ivelisse was on the March 2nd episode of AEW Dark, which saw her team up with Diamante in a match which they lost against KiLynn King and Red Velvet.

In a recent report, it was suggested that she was taken off all AEW programming due to having issues with AEW coaches.

After having a seventeen year career, the Puerto Rican gained notoriety when she appeared on WWE Tough Enough back in 2011, shortly after she had signed with WWE.

While using the name Sofia Cortez, she was sent to work in FCW (Florida Championship Wrestling) where she entered a stable featuring future Divas Champion Paige and Raquel Diaz (Shaul Guerrero, daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero) and dubbed themselves as "The Anti-Divas".

Following this, she was released from the company not long after and as she had alluded to in the tweet, blamed her release on her attempts to report WWE trainer Bill DeMott for mistreatment of talent.

After having a short run with TNA and stints on the independent scene, Ivelisse had found a home in Lucha Underground where she had won the Lucha Underground Trios Championships on two occasions.

However, in 2019, she had become part of a Class Action Law Suit against the promotion and was released in March 2019.

Making her debut in AEW back in September 2019, she took part in the Casino Battle Royal at the All Out Pay-Per-View. She wouldn't appear on AEW again until the following year in July 2020, where she took part in the AEW Deadly Draw tournament. She would later go on to sign with the company.
