AEW star confirms CM punk is “no longer with the company”

Stokely Hathaway, who is the manager of AEW faction The Firm, appeared on the latest episode of Renee Paquette’s podcast ‘The Sessions‘. During the interview, he seemed to confirm that CM Punk is no longer with the company.

During the podcast, he had this to say:

“Everything that was supposed to happen with The Firm did not happen. Back at All Out, what happened immediately after the pay-per-view, that was a huge part of it.

“(The person) we were supposed to directly feud with is no longer in the company.

“That was one thing I was looking forward to because I was hand-chosen for that role. I’m just going to say it. I don’t know the specifics about people choosing sides. I just know that CM Punk said, ‘Hey. I want to work with this guy’. That means a lot, regardless of what has happened.”

Up until this point, CM punk was still under contract with AEW after talks of a buyout of his contract were put on hold because of negotiations over a noncompete clause.

As we all know, this all stems from the post-AEW All Out media scrum where CM Punk took shots at the likes of Colt Cabana, Adam Page, and AEW EVPs Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, after which led to a brawl in the locker room between the EVP’s and Punk, which coincidentally led to suspensions for those involved.

After the ordeal, the only AEW star ( Ace Steel) who came to Punk's defence, has since been released from the company, whereas Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks have returned to in ring action.

CEO of AEW Tony Khan has still not made any comment about CM Punk since the incident has occurred.

We will keep you up-to-date with this saga as things keep developing. I don’t think it’s going to end any time soon.

In the meantime, why don’t you let us know your thoughts on this down in the comments below, and on all our social media accounts.
